ASSET TAGS
The tagging process does not begin until a purchase posts in Banner to an account that Property Accounting monitors (3189, 9000, 9020, or 9040). Account Code 9060 is a holding account that is used to track purchases that will be made over time and will be combined to form one piece of equipment (known as a Fabrication).
In order to post in Banner, a Chrome River report or PO must be fully reconciled and have completed the approval process. This means that there may be a time difference between receiving the equipment and receiving an asset tag.
Asset Tags are associated with a specific item using a serial number (or service tag for Dell computers). Providing a serial number as soon as it is known will help the asset tag process.
